Position Summary:

The Cannabis Financial Controller will be an expert with strong accounting and analytical abilities to be accountable for the business’s accounting and a range of monetary functions consisting of the month-end close, hands-on daily accounting operations (G/L and A/P), accounting research study, systems executions and procedure enhancements. Duties:

  • Maintain extensive understanding of state and federal Cannabis financing guideline
  • Carry Out all Expense Accounting (stock techniques, basic costing, expense tracking, and so on)
  • Implement policies, treatments, and processes as considered suitable to make sure monetary and regulative compliance
  • Manage and preserve a chart of accounts; make sure efficient management of basic journal publishing and regular monthly account reconciliations; evaluation journal entries needed to show the regular monthly activity Maintain internal controls and safeguards for invoice of income, expenses, and spending plans. Supervising processing of A/P, stock and preparation and processing of payroll
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly monetary declarations, perform/review monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, and total regular monthly close treatments
  • Evaluation and/or preparation of regular monthly journal entries and supporting schedules/reconciliations consisting of locations such as accruals and A/P, payroll, bank, stock, prepaids, repaired properties, earnings tax, and charge card. Prepare analysis that help CEO in the decision-making procedure
  • Bank Accounts/Cash Accounts and Order procedure management
  • Take part in constant procedure enhancement to improve, file and automate procedures in addition to boost internal controls
  • Work carefully with outdoors tax preparation, consulting, and independent auditor relationships
  • Accountable for all the time at day accounting activities

Certifications:

  • Prior Cannabis Accounting experience needed
  • 5+ years public accounting/cannabis market experience operating in accounting
  • Need to have strong Expense Accounting background
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Financing or associated field
  • Certified Public Accountant license extremely chosen, however not needed
  • Strong capability to fulfill and go beyond due dates
  • Handle several products simultaneously and fulfill and go beyond expectations
  • Experience with ERP systems chosen, however not needed
  • Experience with a Stock system chosen, however not needed
  • Strong organizational abilities
